Hello from Dorset

Hi you folks,
Have visited this forum a few times and decided to join up!
Hopefully I can gain some more knowledge and hope to contribute back in return.
My background is mechanical engineering and I now have a bit more time to look at some projects.
I have had a couple MIGs in the past and dabbled with TIG, Arc and some Oxy Acetylene.
I currently have a Snap On branded 130 Turbo Mig welder and a Meddings MF2 pillar drill that both need some TLC.
So hopefully I can start off with getting some pointers on spares and usual info getting them fixed up.

The Mig looks like it needs a tensioner for starters and possibly a lot more but I need to have a good look at it when I get chance.

You think you need two knobs but what you actually need is a lathe.

But seriously, the knobs don't need to be original. You can drill and tap anything you have to hand.

Agreed on both points! But would like to get something similar to original as drill in nice original condition otherwise. Functions ok without them but would prefer them to be there.

have the cast iron cover for my floor standing meddings, never used it.....bad enough just picking it up....
hope u find one but bet dont on it.....most get scrapped......
the other bits n bobs wont be any trouble, places like engineers supply may have them in a dusty box out the back if ur lucky.....
OR u just may have to buy a metal lathe and make ur own.....go on u know u want at least one.....
this hobby just keep growing.....hahaha,,,

At least until I get rid of the usual kind of items from the garage, ......6 industrial outdoor cafe tables, a Transit engine, tricycle, old server rack, various broken power tools & batteries, 7 waste oil containers, spare wheels for vehicles I don't own anymore, faulty LED TV, 2 non-functioning Karcher pressure washers etc etc
