An englishman living in Germany greetings to all.
Found this forum by chance ,very interesting and helpful.
Restoring a 1960 DKW 1000s Coupe.
I need to make a repair floor section. 1metre wide 8cm deep with 5 cm
by 3cm wide corrugations.I made up a former out of a 2inch thick beech
board and out of some really hard old oak the forms the male corrugations
firmly screwed to the block.
clamped the sheet steel to the block and proceeded tto bash away,so far
so good! nice corrugations the only problem is that no matter how secure
the sheet is attached to the form I end up with a slightly banana shaped
sheet.
Who can point me in the right direction .
Must point out that I am working the sheet cold, would it help if i heat the
work piece to cherry red, it might smell and smoke a little but i only need
to use it once.
All advice gratefully received
