Hello from Herts

Hi All,
Just another newbie saying hello

I'm completely and utterly new to welding although I fancied trying it out for a while.
Mostly I'm hoping to be able to weld well enough to be able to do the odd bits on my old suzuki 4x4 to make it a little better offroad. (although probably not panel work)

I'll be trawling this site with interest (very, very useful so far) and got my eyes peeled for bargain Mig kit on ebay.

Fill your profile out a little better and you might be able to trade a bit of work or a donation to the beer fund of one of the members near you for some welding lessons.
You`ll find plenty of friendly help and advice here on just about any subject you can think of.

@troppo - thanks, I've put a bit more detail in my profile. I'm quite an expert at buying beer but a complete novice at welding. Happy to use my skills in beer buying to improve skills at welding Now I just have to find someone willing to teach!

Certainly not! I'm a green oval fan, Mrs Robo had a Vitara for a few years but now got a Freelander.

I went to a play day a couple of weeks which was 100% LR, and me driving round in my little Jimny. Got some funny looks!

Think long and hard about were your going with welding,
If you see it as sort term, buy good second hand, you get more welder for yr money.

If you think welding will be long term.
Don't waist yr time, bit the bullet and spend more than you can afford.
You won't regret it. Trust me.

Went to an AWDC trial some years ago, the Suzuki SJ's did well as they were much narrower than LR's so got through the gates easier, conversly a Jeep "Grand Waggoneer" (or similar) was so wide it couldn't get through the start gate on one section!
