Hello from kent!

Hello all! I've been lurking in the sahdows here for quite a while and finally got round to signing up!

I have been welding for about 5/6 years, completely self taught on a 6th hand welder given to me by a guy who lived up the road..

then got given a broken clarke 160tm turbo mig a while ago, fixed her up and going strong now!

I have mainly been chasing the rust around on mine and my mates old suzuki's and landrovers etc. but I have recently started looking at more decorative pieces and odd thingamebobs and whatchamacallits - so here I am looking for inspiration!

Be careful though dabbling in decorative thingywotsits and stuff can be addictive.
Have a look at the sculpture part of the Projects section.
How about shopping up your old pushbike first and making a chopper? That would qualify as a watchmacallit.

small old world eh! Im in rochester too!! just up the road from morrisons!

my old pushbike went to the scrappy many moons ago.. nowadays if it hasn't got an engine its not for me! haha

I am already gathering bits for my first project - the mandatory gas bottle wood burner!

I'd certainly be up for that Scott - if there's enough of us, maybe I could talk the guys at Welding Engineering Supplies (in Strood) to have a bit of an 'open day' for us. Perhaps refreshments and the chance to play with some nice new kit! Failing that there's always the pub!
