Hello from Norfolk

Just a short message to say hello. I live in Norfolk, and have been recommended to this forum by a friend...

I weld a bit - when I need to. I'm not the best, but I'm quite handy with a grinder too so that takes care of any gorillas... I never really got taught, just found myself needing to join metal every now and then and have found it completely impossible to avoid now and love it! Have a half decent MIG but can see myself 'having' to get a decent arc too. My CIP buzzbox ****** me off enough to warrant an upgrade.

So hopefully I'll be able to pick a few peoples brains on welders and maybe a few other points too.

Welcome and ask away, we are alway willing to help and from 1mm up to 'hell thats big' somebody here welds it so the answers only a question away.

welcome m8 . im in norwich .. its a great forum for advice, and they dont bite so ask away and learn.

do u use cutting disks on your grinder or a flap wheel to smoth the bad welds ?? i use a flapwheel, its easier to use and lasts longer and gives a better finish. works out a lot cheeper as well

Thanks fellas - nice welcome. I'm not such a bad welder... It's just I could be better. I'll post a few more up but here's the last welding I did. It's a rifle bolt - the old handle was too high and hit the scope. So I cut the old one off and welded a new one on.

Forged, ground, chequered and polished it too.
