my name is André, i'm 25, and i live in Quarteira, south of Portugal.

I've been learning stick welding with my uncle for a while, and now it's time to get my own welder.

Welcome to the forum, hopefully you will be getting something thats not a cheap buzz box, some of them have awful duty cycles.

If I was looking for a stick welder I would be searching for a used but looked after oil cooled Oxford or Bantam or similar.

Let us know what you end up with and the work you are intending to do.

hi there!

i learned to weld with a stick welder, but i'm going got get a mig welder, as i plan to do some body work and strengthen my chassi legs.

i own a vw polo g40 and they are common to get chassi stress cracks, so we will had some strength.

the machine that i'm going to buy, will be a clarke 160tm. think it the best i can get for a low price.

I think you will be pleased with the Clarke, they generally get good reviews from forum members and seem reliable.
