Hi

Just a quick note to say hello. Time served welder trained at Paddington tech collage in MMA & GAS, then gave up welding after a few years. I still do a little bit when my car fails an MOT or I need a bracket made. At the moment I have an Oxford 180 amp mig set.

When I first went to Eltham welding supplies I thought it would be in Eltham.

It's actually in Woolwich/Plumstead area and I was a bit concerned about leaving the car outside

The staff are quite helpful though and they sell Miller welders. Maybe a bit on the pricey side though.

Apparently theres another supplies store on the Kangley Bridge road in Sydenham, have you been there?

I do know about Eltham wielding & they are very helpful, its funny they have been in Woolwich for 30+ years but they steer you towards BOC for gas. I have just seen the thread about Adams gas supplies & spoke to them yesterday so I might give them a try later in the year for some Argon shield, at the moment I’m using CO2 pub gas. I would like to get a TIG set at some point that is the reason I want to find a gas supply, I find CO2 is ok for the MIG welding that I do but is does make the arc a bit fierce & causes a lot of splatter & its good for putting out fires that start when you are welding cars!!!
Didn’t know about Kangley Bridge road in Sydenham I will have to check them out sometime.
