Hello from Slabs

Hi I live not far from TWI near Cambridge.

I have just had a go at MIG welding. Joined 2 section of steel on a shelving rack that I am putting up in the workshop.

I have done a fare bit of plastic welding (Solvent and Socket Fusion)

My interest is TIG and its use on stainless steels:-

Projects: various SS pipe/tube to weld up. Also small fabrication projects such as a Hopper and a large funnel for filling IBC's.

I will be looking to Purchase a TIG welding kit in due course after Ive had a couple of goes with a friends plant.

Welcome to the forum, have a read through the tig tutorial, and take a look through the stainless section of the projects forum, should be enough there to get you started,
IBC funnel, here's one I made earlier.

I'm beginning to feel as if I'm the only person not involved with these IBC things.
I'm going to hazard a guess that they're to do with the food industry, for now.

it's not just the food industry, they are used for all sorts of liquids.

We use one for collecting water from the air driers on the compressors and couple more with the tops cut off for collecting used gloves/rags, the waste collection company just swaps them out when full.

At the cardboard box factory we used to have PVA glue delivered in them.
