Hello all , good forum . I have been lurking around for I while and I think I need to join in. I am self employed steel fabricator and general engineering repairs . My workshop is behind Carter steel in Stockton on tees, it is there old workshop . I do all sorts of things from gates to heavy beams for builders to digger buckets. I don't need to worry about getting steel delivered as the lads normally carry it down for me and have a chat. Is there anyone else local to me . Andrew

. was working at carter steel a few weeks ago repairing an armoured cable they dropped a load of steel on . the lads said it must be rats christ they must be strong rats to chew through steel wire braiding

Hi Andrew, I'm another local - also from Norton, and our office is within a few hundred yards of you up Concorde Way
I use Carters occasionally for stock as Tata/Corus/ British Steel got rid of their place in the 'Boro... but I'm really an electronics techie, not a welder.

i am surprised how many on hear are from up north . if anyone is ever in carters and fancy a cup call in . i have a kettle but no milk as my fridge is a bit temperamental . bright spark i live in eaglescliffe as well just behind the eagle. i don't have many good photos as i always forget to take them but my wife is always telling me of for that.
i am a bit stressed at the moment as i bought a mosa genny last week and the gent assured me that it workes well but it doesn't . i have spoken to a welder engineer and his conclusion is it is no hope of a economical repair , unless anyone knows better?. so i am trying to decide if it is worth my time returning it = lost revenue from work or if i take a chance and send it by pallet and hope he refunds me . the joys of being self-employed .

well not realy i think this place keeps most of us sane

re the cupper be carefull what you ask for we might all turn up at once

thats fine by me . bring a cup as i only have 2. it can get a bit boring when you work on your own.
