just wanted to say hello. My names Hugh and im interested in learning more about welding especially mig. I worked in a local boat yard in the early 80s doing mma building fuel tanks, wheel houses and bulk heads on trawlers etc,after 27 years in construction I fancy a career change and am considering training to get my papers as a welder......Any advice would be most appreciated ......

Welders wanted

Hi fellas, Canada are crying out for Welders (and Plumbers) which is why im thinking about making the move, ive a few friends who went out there to check things out and didnt come back, they love it.

Yeah, the construction industry is a pain in the bum, i hate doing new builds, nothing but agro and chaos, servicing as a plumber on the other hand is an easy life, no pressure, no-one breathing down ya neck apart from hi rate woman. Yakety-yack-yack-yack!!!

Hi parkboy, as far as pricing up a course goes its cheaper overseas (by a couple of grand) Ive been Plumbing for almost ten years and feel that some welding skills would be beneficial to my skillset, not just as a possible job but also for home projects etc. Check out Ontario Welding College in Barrie, you might find it helpful when making a college choice.
