hi all, my names paul and im about to buy my first welder from a friend. i pick it up in a few weeks. im 23, got a few kids and the obligatory wife and life about 40 mins west of glasgow.
the reason i have taken up welding is im sick of paying someone else to do it. i repair cars as a hobby and am currently working on a daihatsu sportrak which is like a pepperpot round the back end of the chassis.
so instead of paying someone to do it (after i have removed the petrol tank and grinded everthing down) i thought i would bite the bullet and buy a welding set.
its a clark welder, i think its 130amps. im getting two bottles of gas, the welder, clamps, regulator, hoses, new cable reel and some tips for £120.
comapare this to the price i was going to get charged and i save £50, plus im able to do it when i like and learn a new trade in the process.
hello to everyone, if you know me from www.daihatsu-drivers.co.uk i frequent there and write howto's
