Hi all my name is Bill, I found out about this site from a fellow Discovery owner (Smudgersmith) and I'v been reading some of the advise on here for a few weeks now and have found it to be really helpfull. Got a 1992 200Tdi disco with some rust that needs sorting and have done a little welding many years ago but not MIG and never welded anything like a car before.

I bought a Clark 130 EN welder last week and have had a little practice todate but need to do a bit more before attacking the disco but looking OK so far, but I'm sure I will be asking a few questions and seeking some advise soon.

Welcome to the forum Bill. The machine's a good choice but put it on gas with a conversion, you will find it much easier to use & more forgiving as you are learning.

Hi, I have been to get a few extras today including gas reg and some Argon/Co2 mix gas. Hoping to do most of my welding with the gas set up but went for a gas no gas welder just encase the wind is up a little and so can't use the gas as most of what I plan to do will be out doors with limited protection from the weather.

Hi-new member here-i'm a vehicle tech & use gas, mig, & arc in work,
but now at home, I've a son's mini to do!!!! arghhhhh
I've got a cheapo clarke gas/no gas (on no gas) & it goes ok (like gas but yellow splatter)
The tutorials are great-now i'm off to the mini section!
