Hi nice site, thought id introduce myself, I have been a self employed in welding and fabrication, for about 15 years, I weld in MMA, MIG/MAG and TIG, I mostly specialise in heavy construction and get involved in everything from scratch building, porta frame buildings to welding dockside damage on ships. I run several welding plants a 400 amp philips with wire drive unit, a kemppi 500 power source with a A/C D/C hf head, A murex 285, and a lincoln inverter, and a couple of old oxfords. Its nice to go on a site where everone is not trying to be mr clever B*****s like other welding forum sites. O yes my wife thinks im a sad f**K** because i get involved in building 7 1/4 gauge locos and not good im told for someone still in there 30s, i still like geting away to the snow for a month a year so not sure if im a lost cause or not.

Seriously, JESUS H! You don't get a good idea of gradiant on TV/Video & if you were stood at the top of that peak looking down, it would be near vertical. I really don't know how they do it; I've got pretty good technical ability but that really is something else, think you must have to have V.large balls & plenty of vacume space up top!!

There are some off-road vehicles in the UK called "Cats". Argocat make a very small 8 wheel vehicle that is great fun off-road and can be driven on water too. Supacat make military versions. I'm thinking a Snowcat might be a specially developed vehicle for going down that vertical slope. If you don't make such a thing you should.

yes your on the money malcolm the snowcats blast around the slopes at night. they have tracks about 6 foot wide and a bulldozzer typle blade on the front, when it gets to steep for them to climb they stick a winch on the front that couples to a static cable and the little blighters will climb nigh on vertical they then re name thim winchcats. Great fun to have a blast about in... although slightly in fear if your rideing shotgun with a tanked up pole called maric.
