hi, well i've been welding mild steel and stainless for 10 years now, learnt because i like old cars and only ones i could afford were rusty. been welding for a living making allsorts from beds to buildings. just started new job welding classic cars so very happy at the mo and looking to improve my welding on thin steel

Hi Hubba,I do classics a bit as well,just sorting out a Moris Minor at the minute,I know nothing fancy.....new to mig and finding it a bit tricky but slowly improving,main problems I have are getting the machine set right,not being able to see very clear bcos of the torch and welding underneath the car on the lift....how do you find it?

hi paul, nothing wrong with moggy minors. i'm getting a bit annoyed with myself still, cus i'm used to clean/thick steel. can't get welds as nice as i would like, also getting used to the welder. i'm sure i'll get it sorted. cheers

Hi Hubba,well I had a bloody awfull day under the moggie,I have been welding on and off for over 20 years but only with stick never mig......just not getting it somehow.What with trying to sus the welder settings,trying to patch up thin rusty bits all coated in black gunge,and doing it overhead to boot.....not good,suppose I'll get it sorted ..oh and its too dam warm as well haha.
I have a real problem not being able to get properly to where I need to be,I thought I would be ok now I got a 4 poster but I need roller!
