I'm new to forum and welding,

have taken up welding at collage to get myself and family out of the UK.

so far have done some basic mig at level 1 looking to take the plunge into tig after Christmas. is there anyone on here with the same kind of aspirations as me?

welcome to the forum mate, do you speak any other languages? if not id start learning the basics with the family now!! Its a brave move exiting the country I have a mate that went to oz a few years back and he came back as he missed all his family, ironic that before he went he was worried his missus would struggle lol

My missus is always complaining that we don't spend enough time together so I think it would be a great idea if she learned to weld, then we could spend all day together. I would want to take her to a country like Sweden because they treat woman as equals in all vocations, meaning naked calenders and Volga jokes would be less likely.


On the language bit I speak a bit of French and English but have found on my travels that as long as you try a few words in the host language you can more or less get by with English, most of Europe learn English from about age seven. also, with welding being a skill once one passes the job interview I would think language skill would become less of a priority on the job unless my work was total pants. thanks for the replies guys!
