hello im stuart from blackpool

started to weld last month (self taught) with a snap on 130 turbo mig, looking to buy a new welder, think iv got it down to 2 welders now

im going to be repairing my rusty discovery and make a few new bumpers and rock sliders for both my landys

water got in as i was still using the car an a wet day

Hi Stuart, and welcome to the forum

As you intend repairing your landy, you should be aware that both of the welders you link to have a low output amperage of 40 Amps. This means it will be quite difficult to weld thin bodywork metal with either of those machines.

You should be looking at something with a 30 Amp or less output at the bottom end of the scale, for thin panel welding, say under about 1.5 - 2mm thickness.

Of course, if you keep your present welder, you should be able to use that on thin metal, as that will have a low end output of about 30A.
