hi everyone-glad i found this very useful site.
I have been mig welding for a few years and decided to try tig welding.i had an old messer greisheim that was tig and arc.
i have just purchased a giant wse 200 ac/dc tig welder but can see no connectings for when i wish to use it for arc welding ?? is there any way to do this as i like to arc weld certain things and thought i would be able to with this.

Just use the normal electrode connections on the welder for stick (MMA) welding, with a welding stick holder in place of the TIG torch. If using DC, the polarity to use depends on what you're doing. DC electrode negative will give the least weld penetration, with faster melting of the electrode and DC electrode positive gives the greatest weld penetration but with slower melting of the electrode. It's the other way round for TIG, down to the fact argon is the shielding gas.

hope this worked-here is a pic of the welder.
there is no socket for mma electrode holder only a socket for the clamp.now i know the clamp is live and the tig torch is earth.
there is also a bolt on rear of machine with an earth symbol.
could i hook up earth to tig socket and mma holder to clamp (live for tig) to use in mma mode ?
