just saying hello joined a few years ago forgot my account been itching ti weld any two bits of metal for years.

now I think I have the space to weld something so I'm looking for a machine I think its between a rtech or parweld, think the parweld may be a better machine but I see lots if second hand rtech machines all the time on ebay or maby someone had something in looking for an ac ad to 200 Amps.

Hello

Will you be needing to weld aluminium, you could get a decent dc tig set for a lot less money than an ac one?

Don't forget you will need pure argon gas as well whether you go ac or dc route and also factor in a grinder, discs, auto dark helmet, gloves etc into your budget.

yes that will be my next headache sourcing argon, defiantly want to try to weld ally as well so must have the ac option on the machine,

Parweld XTI 202 machine that you mentioned is a beauty, been starting at one from my office for ages with wanting eyes. Be a right nice machine to start off with. Got any ali projects in mind?

Sourcing argon shouldn't be too much of a pain, there is a BOC gas and gear about 15 miles from Salsbury or IIRC Salisbury ain't too far from Southampton, I.e. exactly where @Jim Davey is, he may be able to help you out.
