Helmet Question

Hello, I just got an auto darkening helmet. Should it go dark when I look at the sun, or am I going to have to start an arc to see if it works? It's solar powered so I'm charging it now.

the sun might not be bright enough. Mine will change if i look at a halogen light fitting

Thanks for the quick reply. I guess I'll just have to weld with it and see how it does.

just make sure it turned on! They protect agent the UV even if it fails to switch so find for that second before you stop

flick a lighter infront of it mate, works for mine

I check mine with a flourescent light. Don't look at the sun, you might go blind (especially page 3).
