Hi folks
I have a Cosmo 130 amp MIG and have been trying out on various mild steel sections to gain skill and technique. Gave up on the gas though after the first bottle leaked and I lost the lot. Going to try fluxed wire next.
It's all to produce a replica Lotus 25 F1 car of 1964. Not as much welding as you might think though as the car is an aluminium monocoque riveted together. Some steel welding needed for the bulkheads and suspension/drive bits.
I'll be watching the threads for relevant help.
Incidentally I notice some folks have talked a bit about Hillman Imp engines; that's going to be my first choice for the power unit if I can find one - F1 Coventry Climax V8's are a bit scarce and about 1000 times my budget!
regards all,
Stephen
