Help finding a suitable industrial compressor please

Hi all,

My bosses have tasked me with finding a suitable compressor for a cnc mill we're looking at buying (im calculating the final cost before we buy) but im having trouble finding something suitable other than the Bambi VT300/400D so thought id seek some advise.

It needs to be an oil free, clean and dry air supply that is 100L or more, minimum 2hp and relatively quiet in operation. Below £3k, Cheaper would be better as it might affect whether or not we buy the mill.

Any ideas? All help greatfully recieved!

With that budget, the sky's the limit ! Go for a rotary screw unit, very quiet, durable and reliable. They thrive on continuous use. It would need a filter unit to ensure oil free.
HPC is a good place to look. Buying a used screw unit is a good plan, they are so durable that as long as the maintenance has been performed to schedule it's almost a risk free purchase, so you just save money.

you might need a refrigerant drier as well . you can get screw compressors with them built in .
Best bet is get in touch with a pneumatics specialist and see what they advise

Thanks for the advice, I only set the upper limit that high as thats what the bambi goes for, cheaper is better as its important to keep the costs down if i want my CNC mill!

Have taken a look at Durr Technik after seeing them mentioned in another thread on here, also stumbled across Dencomp. Will contact them for prices tomorrow, any idea if they're decent?

I'll take a look at HPC too, any other manufacturers i should try? Google search just throws pages of sealey/clarke/SIP, which as far as i can tell dont do what i need!

Pneumatics specialist is another avenue to explore, i just assumed they'd be pricey.

Yeah funnily enough i also got that impression from thier website, but i neither like or trust dentists, so im not taking that as an indicator that they're any good!

They do however supply exactly what im looking for...if the price is right.
