help needed with 2k

My mate has been painting a set of wheels in my garage using solid black 2k. Problem is the end result is not very glossy and seems a bit dull. My first thoughts were that he was laying the paint on a bit dry as its quite rough to touch but he swears that he put 2 wet coats on. Is there anything else that could be the problem?

if its dull then its dry or it has bloomed due to the temp being too low
what texture does it have

edit just re read it, if its rough its definitely dry

It's a dry dusty texture, don't think its bloomed temperature was quite warm in the garage. Have had good results with the temperature being lower. I think he has put it on too dry even though he says he hasn't lol

yep its dry cant argue with the finish it says it all

Thought so. Any way to make it glossy without re coating such as flatting and polishing or just trying to buff it up with a bit of compound

if its that bad its probably better to flat and polish, but if you have paint left it will be a lot quicker and easier to flat and re paint

also make sure you have good lighting as it makes a world of difference

Yeh that's probably something I could invest in as lightning in garage is not the best

Just to back up what Paul said, It certainly sounds dry to me, If the lighting is poor its difficult to see whats happening.
Also thinner ratio makes a difference.
