help please

Hi everyone,
I have recently bought a abac b5924/200 air compressor. Its missing the pipe that goes from the pump to tank, can I use copper pipe and fittings?
Also its three phase and I don't have three phase, Could I get away with a 3hp motor or smaller? so I can run it on a 13a plug? it currently has a 5.5hp motor. Do you think I should fix it and sell it to buy a more suitable compressor?

copper pipe will be ok but 3hp is about the max on single phase. u can run 5hp motors on single phase but there massive and need fixed wiring . the comp will not run on 3hp if it has a five hp fitted

Copper should be fine.

If you fit a 3hp motor a 13A plug & socket will be pushing it a bit, you'd be better off with a 16A plug & socket.

With a smaller motor (running at the same speed as the 3 phase motor) you'll have to fit a smaller pulley on the motor if you want to achieve the same pressure, this will be at the expense of CFM. If you want to keep the same CFM with the same motor pulley you'll have to reduce the cut-off pressure to a level before the motor stalls.

Another possibilty would be to use a single to 3 phase converter, but for the full 5hp that will be expensive and you'll definitely need heavier wiring.

also are the threads standard bsp fittings?
and where is the best place to buy a non return valve for it?

there bsp threads . machine mart probably for one way valve but pricey u could shop around
