Help plumbing my new pump

Hello all.

I am in the process of adding a new pump to my compressor as the old one was seriously noisy and no spares were available for it. When I purchased the compressor it had a new 3hp motor which can be seen in the photos.

I need a bit of guidance on finding out the RPM needed for this pump (Clarke CC35) and also how to plumb it to the tank. I guess it should be galv pipe for this...

Any ideas on where to source the relevant bits would be great.

That hole in image 1698 is probably for a valve, the type that stays open until the compressor gets up to about 20 psi, this is to make sure the pump gets up to a decent speed before being subjected to a load. This function is normally done by the unloading valve on the pressure switch.

As for fitting sizes, most online suppliers of compressed air fittings will have tables giving the BSP size against the outside diameter and thread pitch. Google will sort you out there.

As for the RPM of the pump, ask Clarke or nip down to Machine Mart and find a compressor with the same pump, note the pulley sizes and motor RPM and work it out from there.
