Help wanted with thread sizes

Hi, I'm in the UK. I want to buy a torch from the US for use with Propane. A friend in the US says that the two thread sizes available for the torch he suggests are 3/8” X 24 threads per inch or 9/16” X 18 threads per inch.

Soo I guess I'll need a thread converter of some sort as UK threads are now metric. But what are the thread sizes to my hoses? I have a set of thread gauges but none of them fit this torch.

The torch in the picture is a 'Shank'.

We're still using imperial for most pipework e.g. BSP so try your imperial gauges on it, probably 3/8" for welding gear.

9/16 x 18 is unf

3/8" x 24tpi is not extra fine,, extra fine is 3/8" x 32tpi.

i thought all propane hoses were 3/8th bsp left hand thread?
