Help with Aldi compressor

Went to use my Aldi compressor today and it won't build pressure,could feel some air escaping on the switch area...took it apart and this gasket is split..assuming I didn't do it. Looking for help with spares please

From memory a complete switch of a similar quality will be about £10 from the usual sources, Ebay and the like.

while im here...compressor oil is that some magic stuff i need to buy or can i whack some 10/40 in that i have laying around>

not ideal using an oil with detergent in .carbons up the valves . it hasnt knacked mine up in over 50 years mind it just gets what i have in a can at the time

The oil is around £4.50 at Screwfix, Toolstation etc. We use it in our Aldi compressor and it's lasted 7 plus years without issue.

As BS says, don't use an oil with additives. If ever you've put your hand on or near the cylinder head you'll know how hot it becomes. Its worth paying for the right oil. Machine Mart also sell suitable oil.

Don't forget you will need to set it up for max pressure. It's not fun having the safety valve blow.

Compared the naturally cool running nature of an internal combustion engine.

Poppet valves are more resilient to carbon buildup than reed valves.

ebay, tenner or so... should be a direct replacement!
As for oil, straight 30/ SAE 30 as used in lawn mowers will be fine. I got some made by rockoil off ebay cheap.
Good little compressors those. I got one heading on 15 yrs ago and its never missed a beat. At the time they were the same as the similar model from machinemart but half the price and 3 X the warranty and with accessories, most of which are also still working. Lots of the air tools I bought from Aldi back then are still going strong too after more than a decade of abuse...e,g a die grinder which cost £8 lol.
I bought one of the big metal hose reels, rubber hose perished after a year and half and they sent me out another under warranty and I kept the old one. Fitted new hose to both and they've been great... once again same as other brands like sealey and clarke but a fraction of the cost. Great stuff for DIY and I would even say garage use in many cases.

I think I need to do that.. mine leaks slightly but constantly (so I guess my previous comment about no issues isn't entirely true lol) and come to think of it, maybe it's that diaphragm too. Did it fit without any mods or issues? If so would appreciate the link

it fits just the same , dials are plastic body vs metal on the old one ...and the small metal pipe that goes under the switch has a different thread , but they included a new union and olive , cuts off at the correct pressure too

must all be the same on ebay anyway...watch out some have 4 ports under the switch , other than that buy who ever is cheapest and in uk
