help with my welder

anyone who is familer with oil cooled welders might be able to help me. bought a new amp plate cause my old one numbers just wore away off it, and i was wondering how to take off the black handle on the pickhill bantams i see a nut underneat so im quessing u grap it with a wrench hold wrench and turn handle other direction, rembering the setting the welder is on for when the handle is put back on.

i think there is a grub screw horizontally into the shaft

The pic below shows how the handle is fixed on an oxford.

The nut to the left hand side is moulded into the black handle (but this one has been abused so the handle is missing).

To get the settings right, lift and turn the rod, either right or left till it stops then line the handle up with either the highest or lowest setting (depending on which way you turned the rod), and tighten the lock nut. If that makes sense.
