help with wiring sip 20 cfm compressor

hi folks, i just bought a 150 litre 20 cfm sip airmate to replace my 10 cfm sip airmate and it arrived with a much bigger cable than the old one. i looked into the ratings and its 17.8 amps. i called h.i.s and they told me it needs connected to a 30 amp fuse box. the problem i have is a move my compressor outside when im spraying 2k and with my old one i just used an extension cable, how will i move my new one if its connected to a 30 amp supply, is it possible to fit a heavy duty 3 pin plug and then when i need to move it outside i could get a 3 pin heavy duty extension cable.

The official Line would be to install a new circuit with 32Amp Commando socket from the properties consumer unit. You can get out door ones. I have a funny feeling that this should have a dual circuit RCD also.
When the current goes up the voltage drop will start becoming an issue.
You will need at least 10mm^2 cable for the extension. it is a long extension then you will probably need 16mm^2 cable.

The alternative is to make a little house for the compressor outside with the Power supplies to that and pipe the air to wherever you want. no need to move the compressor then!!

17.8 is full load amps starting current is a lot higher 4.0mm cable is adequate for a 30 amp supply although i allways use 6.omm as theres hardly any price diffrence . as long as the lead isnt to far from the main supply it will be ok otherwise u will have to increase cable size to allow for voltage drop. a 30 amp type c mcb will be best to allow for high starting curent
