Hi all from Bedford

Hi all, newbie here (obviously)

Got a Sealey Supermig 235 setup and looking to learn to weld.

Am currently doing an evening course at a school in Ampthill which is only an introduction to welding and is only 5 weeks where we learn about the equipment and have practical experience on arc, mig and oxyacetylene.

My problem is i have no gas for the mig to practice now at home so im off to that section of the forum to post some questions :-)

if you dont want to pay rental on a gas bottle people are using pub co2 bottles they are cheaper but dont weld as good as argon co2 mix

I get my gas from a chap in Dunstable which is possiby not too far depending where in Bedford you are. Anyhow there called Weldair Supplies and he's supplied by one of the guys on this forum.

What are you going to be welding?

Seem to be a few from Bedford, I am just to the west, Bromham. Weldair in Dunstable gives an excellent service and is open on a Saturday morning.

Heh heh hi all, there are a few in the Bedford area it seems :-)

As for what Ill be welding, no idea specifically as I am just learning but nothing more than 3 to 4mm I think, gas wise I think the argon / co2 mix is what Im leaning towards

Weldair gets my vote too, very easy to find on the main road that goes through Dunstable with some parking outside the door.
