Hi all, I've been lurking on here for a while now and have finally decided to join.

I'm currently trying to save my car from what would otherwise be an almost certian MOT failure and a probable trip to the crusher! So I've thrown myself in at the deep end as far as learning to weld is concerned and there is always more work involved than you ever imagined... No doubt I'll have a raft of questions to ask you all shortly.

Thanks chaps! We picked up a Clarke 135TE just after xmas after reading some of the recommendations on here. I've been doing a few practice bits on it so far and am very happy with it. Will need to take some pictures of my attempts and post them for you guys to comment.

The car? Its nothing special or fancy its a 1985 Renault 11. Their well known for rotting like nobody's business! Which is why there's so few of them left.

That's the one, well actually there are two schools right next to each other.
