Hi there
I found this forum by folowing a link from the Discovery owners club site,
been interested in welding for a few years but not very good at it, mainly because my hands shake, (but my missis seems to like it ).
currently got a clarke 100en turbo.
Probely wont be able to add much to forum (unless it's about landrovers), mainly joined to pick up tips and have a bit of fun.

Welcome and do join in. Chatting about things is a great way to help develop skills. Just wording a problem into a question sorts out half of the things I want to ask.

With Series Land Rovers the galvanised chassis are wonderful. Wouldn't bother welding one myself when a chassis can be swapped in a weekend (given a few mates to help). Suppose you have more bodywork to worry about on the Discos.

My SIII chassi swap is running into its third year!

If you have shaky hands try holding the torch with both hands and use an automatic helmet, I found this a great help.
