Just found this great site, its strange it seems to be full of strange people with welders

That aside I am just a beginer with a lifetime behind me, long in the tooth as they say. Hope I can mix in and learn something about welding. I am in the middle of a welding course at the moment and am getting better with the old ARC sticks. just bought a MIG so thats next.

Confucius say if you have size 12 feet you will have trouble finding shoes in the sales. Awfully wise that fellow.

Had Confucius been alive today and on the forum I'm sure the first thing he would have asked is what projects you have in mind? (sorrry - not really getting away from the strange comment there).

Any particular reason for the learning to weld or just something you fancied doing?

No, sorry mate I now how it is to loose best mans friend, I lost two of mine this last year

Getting into welding? I have done a bit with the old ARC stick, or so I thought! the course that I am on just showed me how bad I was doing it
Now I can weld and not just "glue" metal together.

At the moment my 20 year old Range Rover has got a bit of the old tin worm so I am reconstructing parts of the bodyshell. This is where the my new MIG will come in handy once I have sorted the gas supply out and learnt how to use it correctly.
Ultimately I am looking for a old Cortina mk2 to restore, GT or 1600E. I have come across one or two but they have been right rust buckets, more doner vehicles, except for the price! (Anyone got one at not silly prices?)
