Another newbie here just saying Hi to you all. What a great site and forum.
Just looking through the site and reading a number of the threads has given me some confidence in being able to learn myself. The reason for learning is so that i can restore a rather sorry looking MGC over the next few years.
I'm learning from scratch so hope to take advantage of the wealth of knowledge, experience and advice availible and so freely given here.

A worthy successor to the Healy 3000, is this what the B should always have been? Much rarer than the V8 and very British, lazy staright 6 and all that. Was it just the front suspension that differed on these cars, or did they modify the rear as well?

Welcome. MGC sounds like an ideal welding project (in that it will probably be very rusty once you get it apart ). I rebuilt an MGB a few years ago. The one thing I really wish I'd done is use Heritage panels rather than the cheaper reproduction panels that didn't fit properly.

Have you picked up a welder yet?

Plenty of rust, plenty of welding to do, once i know how! I don't have a welder as yet - I'm still doing my homework on the one that will be best for the job and within me budget (about £2-300 if thats realistic?). Don't intend to use it on much other then the car and building a rollover jig. Would appreciate some hints as to which units i should be looking at.
