I signed up the other day but did not have time to do this part.
I was a plater welder many years ago, normal thicknees was in the 3/4 to 1 inch size but i did work on 4in plate once, that was big.
I have done many type of welding, Stick, Mig, Tig and Gas. The Tig welding was with Aluminium and copper. The copper was the best i could do it without get sunburnt, we used helium gas as it is much cleaner that Argon gas.
We used to make furnaces for melting steel, 30 ton jobbies, if anyone out there knows of the compant in Hurst Green get in touch.
