hi everyone. just joined so i thought i'd introduce myself. my name is lewis, im a 21 year old apprentice electrical engineer and use a sealy mightymig100 gassless mig for making small frames and anything that pops into my head really. have been welding with it for around 4 months, and have had some minor experience with ARC welding doing some basic repairs in work on hydraulic pumps and am really enjoying it so thought id join the forum in the hope of enhancing my skills. i also enjoy restoring and tuning cars and motorbikes

hi norm. i am hoping to make a stand for my father to use when spraying motorbike tanks on saturday, so if all goes well i will have pictures of the finished article, and if all goes horribly wrong i shall have many questions

sounds like a lot of my projects but they sort of get there in the end

well i have succesfully managed to stick some 30 x 30mm angle peices together at right angles to make a mesh guard for my balcony, and they are strong enough not to snap when i pull on them, and the box section im going to be using saturday is the same 3mm thick mild steel, so i am quietly confident it should come out ok. i have had alot of practice at getting things lined up right and precise in work so fingers crossed it should be a good days welding
