Hi Everyone,

Just signed up to this great site. So I thought id say hi. I have never welded before but ive always wanted to learn so Ive just got myself a 2nd hand Clarke 135 Turbo Mig.

Plese could some one explain how I load up the wire feed as im not sure how to do it. I cant find any instructions for the welder on the net.

With the wire feeding from the top of the spool take off the top tension arm on the feed unit. There are two grooves on the bottom feed roller, ensure it is set up for the correct wire diameter (0.6 or 0.8mm). Straighten the first 3 inches or so of the wire & file the end, removing any burrs. Manually push the wire into the start of the torch, ensuring it goes into the torch lining (you will see this sticking out of the torch a bit).
Making sure the wire is sat in the groove on the feed roller, put the top tensioning arm back on.
With the copper contact tip & gas shroud removed from the front end torch neck, keep the lead as straight as possible and on low wire feed speed, press the torch trigger; it should then feed itself through the torch.

Thanks for thet weldequip, I will try it later on and see how it goes. The person who I got the welder off said that the wire had snapped off between the gun and feed. Is it possible to use pliers to remove the wire and then feed new in or do I need a new gun ?
