Hi everybody !

I am new on this forum so I introduce myself : I am 33 and my main hobby is to take care and restore Volvo. Sorry for my "french" english !

I have read every and each page of the website in order to prepair myself to rebuild the body of a Volvo 122S. Then I have bought a MIG welder (Butters AMC170, bought in UK, much easier to find than in France) and started to exercise MIG welding following the website advices.

I feel that I do like bodywork !

Let's go ! I may need a sort of pliers to make a welding between two sheets of metal, one on the other. This tool makes like a ~ 1 mm step. In addition, some of these tools can also make holes. What's the name in english ???

Not sure about making holes too but I think you're talking about welding clamps? they come in various shapes, like this http://www.northerntooluk.com/products.asp?partno=15014E

Welcome jpierre, It's called an 'edge setter', 'joggler' or 'joddler' The one you're talking about also has a hole punch on the other side, like this one.

Looking at some of your previous posts, Ratty, you've done more than your fair share of giving people good advice keep up the good work.

Cheers Wozz - I does me best, always happy to be contradicted and always happy to learn - you've prob noticed I'm not a car mending sorta person but you never know when specialist tools can be useful. I'll butt out of this thread tho' as it's outa my league!

Perfect ! It is exactly the tool I am looking for, much cheaper than in France.
Generally speaking, these range of tools is much more expensive here

Several years later, I am bak, to say that thanks to this website and forum, my restoration project has ended successfully ! The car is rolling very good !
