Hello and happy new year to you all.
About me!
My name is Scottie and my surname is my username. Hey it was a funny idea and the deedpole web site got my £30 so thats that over and done with. Strange but true
Why am I here?
Years and years ago I did City and guilds in Gas and ARC welding overhead upright ETC . And for years I have dealt with my trusty Oxford and a bit of gas.Now comes the time for some upgrades so with that in mind I just bought a new toy
Thermal ARC Fabricator 181i with the TIG torch and Argon/Argon-CO2 mix Brand new in the box Yes I know it`s not the best but a nice hobby welder.
New to MIG welding so i spent 2 days in the shed working/practising getting my head round it. Made some really nice welds and am loving it.
Now TIG thats the issue I can gas weld so I get the principles BUT I`m struggling with the TIG
I`m hoping to be a valid member on here to not only learn but to assist in anyway I can.
Oh I also run one of the last of the LEZ compliant MK3(top gearish fame Hilux`s left) But thats another story. I love Metal, hate wood and love mud fun
So please be gentle with me I know what forums are like I was a moderator on a Hilux owners forum/club till recently
