Hello guys,

Just introducing myself as a new member. Im an avid Golf GTi enthusiast and am currently rebuilding my MK2 with a 2.0 16v engine and some other trick bits. Nothing chavvy or boy racerish - just a nice standard looking but very well fettled car - for use on weekends and evenings when I fancy a blast.

I joined on here to research some body work repairing techniques as I need to weld in a new battery tray and outer sill. Possibly a few other bits as well.

Hi Willber,welcome to the forum ,there are a few of us dubbers here ,(mk1 cabriolet)..a few camper owners .....far more landrovers and mini's here ,as they rust more,

Welcome to the forum, im a Mk1 Caddy owner my self and belive my there was as much rust in that as any old mini

I have a modified early Golf mk2(a) (1985) but i am lucky as my battery tray and underneath are rust free but i remember is the first place it rusts aswell as the area round the rubber bung where the wiper gets changed over for left hand drive.

BTW Used to have a brilliant ginger cat called Wilber...I know not the same, but all the same he was as ....well you know what I mean.
