I've been looking through the topics on here for a while now and just reading up on theory! My work has a scheme where they will pay for me to learn a skill not related to my job, so I'm applying for a 10 week welding course at Waltham forest college! Hopefully ill start in april so I thought it was about time to say hello
I'm hoping to use the skills to finally sort out my first car... A 1992 106. I can't bear to get rid of it as it has a lot of sentimental value to me, but it has a small rusty patch on the drivers sill and needs the front of a chassis leg replacing after a bodged repair before I got it! The plan is to strip it to a bare shell, do the required work, possibly weld in a cage, full respray and build up with uprated parts into a fast-road/track car!
I'm handy with all things mechanical, but bodywork is the one thing to elude me so far... Wish me luck
