Hi all,
I'm a newbie with minor experience of Mig welding.
Although being a print production manager, i also maintain all the plant etc. And have advanced onto building specialised machines with pneumatics / PLC's etc.
I bought a Migmate Pro 170 a while back as the aluminium chassis were getting a bit limiting and expensive. Now i weld up what i need and its much cheaper.
The biggest so far was a box section frame from 100x50x6mm to hold a power press unit. I Vee'd the joints and run plenty of heat with 0.8 wire and
C02 from a pub cylinder at 10l/min, it turned out great and the welds didn't even need grinding back, i'll post some pics.
I tried stick welding once, gave up pretty quick
Mig is much more forgiving.
Dave
