I have just joined the forum, I am a Retired engineer and have been welding on and off for over thirty years using an old pickhill oil cooled stick welder, last week i decided to take the plunge and treat myself to a R-TEC 180 mig,
I set it up and tried a few welds using co2 which i can get locally, and i must say that after about ten minutes my welds were very acceptable, my first project is to make a few metal shooting highseats out of 25mm box section, I think the old pickhill will have an easy life from now on, Cheers Geoff
