Have a clarke 90en, mainly for welding patches to cars. I was taught how to weld 10 years ago when training to be a car mechanic, but have only done occassional welding since.

I'd like to have a go at ally with mig, mainly because I know a few people who want some inlet manifolds modifying/built from scratch.

Can't think of any reason why the Clarke 90 wouldn't work for ally so long as it's set up correctly. Though mig welding aluminium isn't nearly as neat as doing it with TIG, and is more tricky. Could be quite time consuming to get a respectable weld on other people's bits.
