Hi From Monmouthshire, Show me to the welding gurus

Hi I'm Nick from Monmouthshire have just got myself a second hand, and by the looks of the posts i can find about it, very old cebora 880 Mig setup to tinker with at home after getting fed up with not being able to create all the wacky things i kept thinking up from the spare bits and bobs i have floating around at my dads place.

I've done very little welding as such but decided to start myself off with a 10 week evening class to show me the basics, so any advice would be great.

Things i'm looking for on this site are

1. Information from people more experienced than myself
2. ideas for modification/fixes to make my welder more useable/last
3. a link to anywhere i can get ahold of a manual for this beasty
4. general hints and tips and possibly even ideas for simple welding projects

Any help would be appreciated, who knows one day i might even be able to help somone else out if i learn what the heck i'm doing.

Well done for jumping on a course. It'll give you a great head-start. There's, also, a very good (no sales pitch) tutorial here.

...there's more projects on here than you can shake a E6013 at!

Welcome to the Forum...
The usual starter projects are a trolley to hold and wheel your MIG about, perhaps a rack for your files, hammers etc, a good heavy workbench/ welding bench made out of box section with a steel top, does not have to be big, or convert an old B&D workmate.
Have a browse through the photo albums..you will get loads of ideas

Had a look at the cebora site already but came up empty handed.

Not so much looking for the manual from an operational point of view. Just figured there might be some usefull information in it.
