Hi all.
My name is Andy.
I trained as a welder about 30 years ago doing MMA and O/A. I did not continue with it as a job, because quite frankly after spending 3 years of my life in a tiny welding booth doing the same thing day in day out, I hated it with a passion.
With that said, I have been doing a bit here and there on my own cars, and also some projects.
I have a Mig set that I brought new about 8 years ago (Sip migmate 105) and have also recently brought off ebay a Sip migmate 150 that was in need of some attention.
I have until recently being using the throw away co2 bottles but found they get expensive and I have had a couple of bottles with bad valves that have leaked all co2 after first use.
I now use an old co2 fire extinguisher upturned and a pub type regulator.
I have heavily modified my Sip 150 and are quite happy with its capabilities and wire feed now.
I have been lurking on here for quite a while before joining up and have pulled some great info and tips from the site. Thanks all.
