Hi all. I learned to arc and gas weld back when I started my apprenticeship way back in 1977, and haven't picked up anything bigger than a soldering iron since. These last few months I've had an itch to learn to MIG weld. Not knowing if my hands are steady enough (or my eyes good enough) I decided not to spend out on a brand new welder so I've been scouring eBay for a used one at a sensible price.
I've picked up a Telwin Minimax 100 that's been in use in a small garage, and I got it for not a lot of money. I know it's not the best in the world but it will at least scratch this itch, and if I can produce a half-decent weld I can always flog it on and upgrade. It came with a full bottle of CO2 (Messer UK, the same as in this thread http://www.mig-welding.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=20082), but no regulator so I'm off to the bay of fleas again to look for one - I take it that it's a pub-bottle type regulator I need seeing as the bottle is side entry on the valve?
