Quick intro to say hi.

My names nick and i thought id join the forum. It seems every question/query i google welding related brings me to this forum so im guessing you guys are the ones in the know.

A little about myself. Ive always toyed and dabbled with welding but by no means a expert, in fact very much amateur. I currently own a snap on cerbero (excuse spelling) hobby mig. Its pretty poor and recently started playing up. So ive been doing some research about what to get next. Im going to upgrade to a bigger machine, something that feels quality but not yet decided what. (Advise welcomed)
Il mainly be using the welder for my car projects. Im a bmw senior technician and love a good weekend project.

Anyways i look forward to getting involved in the forum.

welcome to the forum, the cebora migs are a decent machine if its playing up at a guess wire feed problems, have you replaced the liner and tip ?

Hi guys. Hi snooper. The part thats playing up is the big contact switch that i guess starts the arc. Probably from lack of service etc but it started with a long delay until it arced then totally give up. Because i wanted to upsize i just hooked it up to be constant live whilst i finished my job. Its been left ever since.
It takes the little gas bottles aswell so ive spent almost 14 billion pounds on them so far (maybe a slight exaggeration)
At my work we have a murex 165 tradesweld or something. I love this thing. It feels right. I wouldnt mind something similar. Il get a pic.

Look for the thread on the Volkszone deal. I think it is still available and is the best deal if you have a project on the go. Loads of gas and far, far cheaper than dispisables.
