I've been lurking here for a while - so I thought it was about time I joined up and joined in 
I've been mig welding since I learned to drive - I couldnt afford something that would pass an MOT , so I had to learn to fix things myself
I,ve built a few drag bike frames (always bronze welded) , and somehow drifted into being the `welder/fabricator' at work (which is very satisfying as I get to design/cut/weld and even paint what ever is needed - from a simple welding bench to a loading platform for the stores , complete with steps on one side and locking gates !)
My current time and money consumer is my kit-car (Fisher Fury), on which I have done all sorts of stuff - wider front wishbones , extra bracing in the front of the chassis , re-worked rear end with a one-off ten gallon tank , and a V6 Mazda engine.....
Thinking of learning to tig now so I can make some better exhaust manifolds (just for the challenge , nothing to do with getting more power
