My interest in Welding started about 10 years ago and have learned a lot from Reading posts on this forum.I am strictly a hobbyist.I live in Norway.I have two Migs, a chinese bx 100b arc welder and an inverter I bought in Thailand that I`ve done some scratch start TIG attempts With. I have done sill jobs and wheel arc jobs that have been tolerated at the MOT.
My last job was a Wheel arc job I did on my Nissan Maxima. Buying replacement panels for this car amounts to about 400 pounds here in Norway (importing from US would also be way to expensive).
So I opted to use discarded wheelarches from a dumpster behind a garage (I did ask politely ).
Wonder if anybody has done this, using panels from other car makes to repair Wheel arches ?
If the curvature is approximately the same and you`re not aiming for perfection ?
I just wanted solid steel there in stead of the rot. The car looks decent from some distance.
