Hi All
I have been perusing the site for a while now whilst I summon up the courage to get hold of a welder and have a go, having never welded before.
Having purchased a SIP Migmate 130 and fitted a steel liner, braced the feed rollers and got the tensioner just right, I have managed my first welds this weekend. It didn't start too well as I got to grips with the welder feed issues (which are numerous as this site did warn me!) and the power settings, but after about 2 hours things started to look a little better. I have attached a pic of the best effort so far, its nowhere near perfect, but I am pleased with the result considering the reputation of the welder and my total inexperience.
Needless to say, I absorbed a LOT of information from this site before getting to this point so many thanks to all who have contributed
